Indonesian Contemporary Art & Design (ICAD) is a yearly festival where art and design meet in South Jakarta’s progressive district, Kemang. Since 2009, it has been a platform dedicated to sparking collaborations and discourses between creatives and thinkers across disciplines: design, architecture, fashion, film, hospitality, technology, and more.
To date, the festival has worked with leading cultural institutions from Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, France, Qatar, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and the UK, among others.
With 15 years of experience, ICAD has also grown into a think-and-do tank that contributes to museum design, exhibition-making, and cultural programming projects across Indonesia and beyond.
Recent collaborations include the Qatar-Indonesia Years of Culture 2023, which developed residency programmes with Qatar Museums, blending craft and contemporaneity through design. ICAD’s footprint in the international contemporary art design scenes also includes the Milan Design Week, the Venice Art Biennale, and the London Design Biennale—where curated works from Indonesia’s cutting-edge minds are brought to the global stage.
Our collection of annual ICAD (Indonesian Contemporary Art and Design) events and other events is under construction. The full archive is being updated and will be available soon.
